“Love on the Tarmac” Snippet #4

Happy Weekend.

Once again it’s Rainbow Snippets time.

Sorry I missed last week, but I’ll make it up to you with another offering from Love on the Tarmac, which was published by Dreamspinner Press in their Bare Studs anthology last year. Here are the further adventures of a man who works for a small airline. This snippet picks up immediately from last week.

For some reason I had yet to comprehend, Pratt had chosen me as his special victim to annoy since my first week at Rainier Air. His sister ran the company, so Pratt thought that gave him a right to order everybody around, but it seemed he had a special hatred just for me.

I fought back the impulse to say that Rampie wasn’t my name, it was a job description. If he wanted better results he could call me Cooper, or even Mr. Austin. I wanted to get into his face and tell him what I thought about him, but I learned long ago direct confrontation never worked with a bully. There were better ways to handle a jerk like him.
